A little history
|
Born July 11, 1611 in Sedan, Henri de la Tour d'Auvergne-Bouillon, Vicomte de Turenne, made his debut in the army of Holland and his uncle chose to serve in France with courage and talent. Shortly after he obtained the command of the royal arms.
At the Battle of Salzbach, while the battle was progressing as he wished, he was killed by a cannonball. His opponent, Montecuccoli would then exclaim: "He died today a man who did honor to the Man."
A phrase that sums up the genius, goodness, greatness of soul, military science with the Vicomte de Turenne shown throughout his life.
